Commitment to Excellence

After enrolling at KIPP Northeast Elementary, the principal, teachers, parents, and students sign a non-binding pledge called a “Commitment to Excellence” that outlines expectations for student behavior, parent involvement, and school culture.

Teachers'/School Leaders' Commitment:

We will fully commit to KIPP Northeast Elementary in the following ways:

• We will do whatever it takes to support your child as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
• We will every day to empower your child on their path to and through college. 
• We will be partner with your family and be available by phone and in person.
• We will arrive by 7:30 a.m. each day and work hard until 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 5:00 p.m. on professional development Tuesdays.
• We will participate fully in grade level meetings, staff meetings, and professional development.
• We will teach Success Academy and attend professional development sessions in the summer.
• We will live by example and teach the values of KIPP Northeast Elementary every day.

Family Commitment:

We will fully commit to KIPP Northeast Elementary in the following ways:
  • • We will work in partnership with our child's teacher to support our child on their path to and through college.
    • We will read with our child, check their homework, and sign daily communication sheets every night.  If there is a problem, we will contact the teacher for assistance.
    • We will make ourselves available to our children and the school and address any concerns they might have.  If our child must miss school for an unavoidable reason, we will notify the school immediately.
    • We will ensure that our child attends KIPP Northeast Elementary Success Academy.
    • We will allow our child to go on KIPP Northeast Elementary field trips.
    • We will make sure our child follows the KIPP Northeast Elementary dress code.
    • We understand that our child must follow the KIPP Northeast Elementary rules so as to protect the safety, interests, and rights of all individuals in the classroom. We will be responsible for the behavior and actions of our child.
    • We will make sure that our child arrives at KIPP Northeast Elementary every day by 8:05 a.m. Monday through Friday or boards a school bus at the scheduled time.
    • We will arrange for our child to remain at school until 4:15 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
    • We will attend Family Nights to enrich our child’s learning.

Student's Commitment:

I will fully commit to KIPP Northeast Elementary in the following ways:

  • • I will always come to school prepared to live our values of love, grow, community, and justice.
    • I will help myself and my community grow every day.
    • I will complete all my homework well every night and read with my family to grow my brain.
    • I will raise my hand and ask questions in class if I need help and to share my ideas.
    • I will be responsible for my own behavior and choices.
    • I will follow the teachers' directions and accept the consequences so I can grow.
    • I will wear my complete uniform every day.
    • I will attend KIPP Northeast Elementary during Success Academy.
    • I will make sure that I come to school every day and stay all day in school.
