Academic Results

At KIPP Colorado Schools, one of the ways that we evaluate success is based on our students’ growth throughout the year, as measured by the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test. As seen in the graph below, our students who come to us an average of two to three grade levels behind in middle school have made significant growth throughout the year in math, reading, language, and science.

We also evaluate success based on our students’ performance and growth on regular state and nationally-normed assessments such as the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP). On the 2013-14 TCAP, KIPP Colorado Schools as a whole ranked among the highest of all schools in the district. In terms of total student growth, KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy ranked eighth out of all 226 schools in the district, and KIPP Montbello College Prep ranked 26th. KIPP Denver Collegiate High School ranked sixth for growth out of all district high schools.

Are we making enough growth to reach grade- and college-ready levels?
